Welcome to Episode 13 of No Man’s an Island – a podcast powered by Men’s Therapy Hub.
In this episode, Chris Hemmings speaks with Professor Ben Hine, a psychologist, author and academic whose work explores the lived experiences of men and boys in modern society. As Chair of the Male Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society and co-founder of the Men and Boys Coalition, Ben brings evidence-based insight into how culture, policy and ideology shape conversations about gender.
They discuss male victimhood, parental alienation, and why evidence and empathy must come before ideology. Ben shares his personal experience of family breakdown, the long-term psychological impact of alienation on children, and his research showing that both mothers and fathers are equally affected.
This conversation challenges assumptions about gender, explores how societal narratives silence men’s pain, and asks how we can build fair, evidence-based systems that support everyone.
