Über diesen Titel
Welcome to Southern Indiana Now, your home for community news and stories. This episode is brought to you by Prosser Career Education Center, shaping the future of our local workforce.
This week, we're focusing on our neighbors. With costs rising, many in our community are feeling the squeeze. If you or someone you know is just barely getting by, please know that help is available right here in Southern Indiana. We're highlighting four incredible organizations dedicated to providing a hand-up.
In this episode, we cover:
- Anchor House Pantry and Shelter (Seymour): More than just a 24/7 emergency shelter, we look at their food pantry hours (Mondays 10-3, Thursdays 12-5) and the support services they offer to help families and individuals in Jackson County get back on their feet.
- Washington County Food Bank (Salem): Located at 106 N Water St, this vital resource is a lifeline for many. We share their operating hours (Mon, Wed, Fri 9-3) and how they work to ensure no one in Washington County has to face hunger alone.
- Sweet Cheeks Diaper Pantry (Seymour): Did you know 1 in 2 families in Indiana struggles to afford diapers? We visit the First Presbyterian Church in Seymour to learn about their pantry, which provides this critical, often-overlooked essential for families with young children.
- The Alley (Seymour): We shine a light on the amazing work happening at 505 Community Drive. From their pantry and recovery support groups to the hot meals served nearly every evening (Tue-Fri), The Alley is a place of comfort, nourishment, and hope.
Tune in to learn how to access these services or, if you're able, how you can support their mission.
