Über diesen Titel

Hey there, and welcome to Empower Her Plate, the show where we break free from toxic diet culture, find a balanced relationship with food, and celebrate a life we genuinely love—without the guilt, obsession, or endless self-criticism.

I'm your host, Danielle White, personal trainer for over 20 years, owner of Iron Butterfly Fitness, and the coach who's helped thousands of women lose weight, redefine their bodies, and finally heal that love-hate relationship with food. As a 47-year-old who's still rocking a healthy physique, I'm here to dish out all the real tips, tricks, and truth bombs that can help you do the same—and more importantly, enjoy the journey because I am ALL about having FUN!

You might be thinking, “Another fitness podcast?” But here's the difference my podcast brings:

  • We're not just counting macros or logging endless cardio sessions. It's not about that... It's about your relationship with food - that is keeping you stuck in the enless yo-yo of dieting!
  • We're exploring how our mindset, emotions, and everyday life impact our bodies—and vice versa.
  • We talk about the hard parts of being a woman: juggling family, careers, relationships, faith, and self-care—without losing ourselves in the process.

If you've ever struggled with diets that didn't stick, felt frustrated by body changes, or secretly wondered why weight loss feels so complicated, you're in the right place. Because it's not all about the numbers on the scale—it's about the whole you.

What to Expect

1. Real Conversations
We'll dive into the raw stories—the wins, the epic fails, and everything in between. I'll share how I've seen clients transform from the inside out (and how you can do it, too).

2. Game-Changing Strategies
From body typing and fueling your body for optimal health, to dealing with emotional triggers and self-sabotage, we're going deeper than the average “eat less, move more” advice.

3. Fun Fitness & Lifestyle Topics
Yes, we'll chat about HIIT & strength training (my fave!), but also about staying active in ways that fit your life—whether it's Pilates, hiking, or dancing in your living room. Plus, how to navigate those social events, the sweet treats you adore, and even the occasional “Netflix & Chill” night without guilt!

4. Tips & Tricks for a Lifelong Healthy Body
At 47, I've learned a thing or two about maintaining a body that feels great—and how to enjoy life along the way. Expect plenty of mindset hacks and real-world strategies you can start using today.

5. The Hard Parts (And How to Win)
Sometimes life hits us with heartbreak, doubt, or just plain fatigue. We'll talk about how to push through, lean on faith and community, and come out on top—stronger, wiser, and more confident than before.

Girl, I get it—this whole wellness journey can feel overwhelming. But you're not in this alone. I've guided thousands of women who felt stuck and frustrated, and watched them blossom into happier, healthier, more fulfilled versions of themselves. And guess what? You can do it, too.

  • Ep. 22 - The REAL reason you overeat during the holidays (It's NOT willpower)
    Nov 25 2025

The holidays can be magical — but they can also trigger some of the deepest food struggles women face all year: overeating, emotional snacking, the “screw it” spiral, food guilt, and the exhausting Monday-start-over cycle.

In this episode, Danielle breaks down the real reason holiday eating feels harder — and spoiler: it has nothing to do with willpower. You'll learn the science behind why stress and cortisol increase cravings, how restriction fuels binge behavior, and why your brain goes into “last chance eating mode” the second December hits.

For years, Danielle believed her binge eating was a lack of discipline. But the moment she realized it wasn't about the food — it was about the unmet need underneath the food — everything changed. Inside this episode, she shares the exact emotional and behavioral tools that helped her heal, and the same strategies she teaches inside EmpowerHer Plate.

    Together, you'll dive into:

Why holiday overeating is a nervous system response, not a personal failure

The restrict → binge → shame cycle and how to break it

The One Plate Promise (a simple structure that ends overeating without restriction)

How food becomes comfort when your emotional needs go unmet

How to rebuild trust with yourself around food during the holidays

If you want a peaceful relationship with food — not just in December, but for life — this episode will feel like exhaling for the first time in months. And if your tired of being tired, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same patterns.... the Iron Butterfly Challenge is your wake-up call. Come see what you are capable of! • Ep. 21 The Invisible load: The holiday stress women carry alone and how to stop it from happening this year.
    Nov 20 2025

In this episode of the EmpowerHer Plate Podcast, Danielle breaks open the truth every woman knows but rarely says out loud: the invisible mental load that explodes during the holiday season. From the endless to-do lists to the emotional labor of making the holidays magical for everyone else, women carry a quiet weight that leaves them burned out, overwhelmed, and exhausted.

You'll learn why your brain feels overloaded (yes, there's neuroscience behind it), hear a vulnerable personal story of holiday burnout, and get three powerful tools — the Three Piles System, the Delegation Dare, and the Mental Load Release Ritual — to help you take your peace back.

This episode is warm, honest, practical, and deeply validating. If you're tired of doing everything for everyone, this will feel like a deep breath.

You don't need a perfect holiday.

    You deserve a peaceful one.

  • Ep. 20 When the Trigger Wins—How to Recover Without the Guilt Spiral
    Sep 30 2025

What happens when the cookie, the chips, or the peanut butter win?

In this episode, Danielle gets real about the moments when food triggers take over—and why the guilt spiral that follows is more damaging than the food itself. She shares a raw story of a “cookie box crime scene,” the science behind why guilt actually fuels more cravings, and how to stop making one slip feel like total failure.

    Inside, you'll learn:

    • Why guilt after eating actually keeps you stuck

    • The truth about the stress cycle and emotional cravings

    • How to interrupt the “last supper” mentality before it snowballs

    • A simple 3-step recovery framework: Pause, Reframe, Redirect

    ✨ Freedom doesn't mean you're never triggered.
✨ Freedom means knowing how to recover without shame.

If you've ever thought, “I blew it, so I'll start again Monday,” this episode is your permission slip to break that cycle—once and for all.
