Last time we spoke about rejection, how it can protect you, refine you, and redirect you. But what happens when a “no” is not protection… it’s resistance? In this episode of Woman Wednesday, we balance the conversation.
In this episode, we explore the other side of rejection, the kind that requires discernment and tenacity. Through the story of the Syrophoenician woman (Matthew 15:21–28), who refused to walk away when Jesus initially resisted her request, and Esau’s persistence before Isaac (Genesis 27:34–38), we examine what it means to push past resistance with humility and faith. We also revisit Acts 12, where James was killed but Peter was spared, reminding us that timing and purpose differ from person to person.
“Don’t Take No for an Answer” is not about aggression or dominance. It’s about wisdom. It’s about knowing when to accept a closed door and when to contend for what God has placed in your spirit. As Joshua 1:9 reminds us, we are called to be strong and courageous. And as part of a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), we are not meant to sit on the sidelines of destiny.
Sometimes humility reopens a door.
Sometimes persistence breaks it down.
And sometimes discernment tells you to walk away.
Listen in as we unpack how to respond to rejection with strength, grace, and Kingdom confidence.
