  • Episode 616: The Art of the Pivot with Cat Greenleaf
    Feb 19 2026

    Send a text

What happens when the person known for interviewing celebrities on a stoop decides to step into her own spotlight of truth? In this powerhouse episode, we sit down with Cat Greenleaf—four-time Emmy winner and former host of NBC’s Talk Stoop—turned fierce advocate for sobriety and recovery.

Cat pulls back the curtain on her transformative journey, moving from the high-stakes world of media to the deeply personal work of self-discovery. We explore the "language of recovery," the messy intersections of motherhood and addiction, and why community support is the ultimate backbone of a sober life.

Beyond the personal, Cat shares her mission to change the narrative for the formerly incarcerated through her Restorative Housing Organization, proving that finding a deeper purpose is the key to both personal healing and societal impact. This is a conversation about authenticity, the courage to change careers mid-stream, and the profound power of helping others find their way back.

    About Cat Greenleaf

Cat Greenleaf is the creator and former host of Talk Stoop on NBC, where she interviewed hundreds of guests over nine years and earned four Emmys. After losing her job, she deepened her commitment to sobriety and founded the Restorative Housing Organization, training formerly incarcerated individuals to renovate and manage affordable waterfront housing. In 2024, she launched her own podcast, Soberness, dedicated to candid conversations about living a life in recovery.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • The Transition: Moving from celebrity broadcasting to advocacy.
    • The Power of Words: How the language we use in recovery shapes our reality.
    • Parenting & Sobriety: Navigating the unique challenges of motherhood while healing.
    • Social Impact: Cat’s nonprofit work training formerly incarcerated New Yorkers to manage affordable housing.
    • The "Hacks" Moment: How a TV reference and a talk with Steve Earle sparked the Soberness podcast.

  • Episode 615: Redefining My Lent — From Self-Denial to Self-Care
    Feb 17 2026

    Send a text

As we move from the indulgence of Fat Tuesday into the quiet reflection of Lent, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this season actually means for us. In this episode, I’m challenging the traditional idea of "giving something up" and shifting the focus toward intentional self-care and personal growth.

I share my own reflections on why this transition shouldn't be about deprivation, but about filling our own cups so we can show up better for ourselves and the people we love. From navigating major life changes to the simple power of a daily walk, I’m exploring how prioritizing our well-being is the ultimate form of spiritual and personal discovery.

    What I’m Talking About Today:

    • The Shift: Why I’m choosing self-care over self-denial this Lenten season.
    • Simple Wellness: Practical ways I’m incorporating health—like movement and nutrition—into my routine.
    • The HALT Method: How I stay mindful of being Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired to keep my peace.
    • New Priorities: My journey of reassessing what I need most amidst life's constant changes.
    • The Power of Us: Why I believe community and connection are essential for growth.

  • Episode 614: Practicing the Principles in Business with Andrew Lassise
    Feb 12 2026

    Send a text

Have you ever wondered if the 12 steps could do more than just keep you sober? My guest today, Andrew Lassise, is a serial entrepreneur and 12-step advocate who proves that the same tools we use to save our lives can also build our empires.

After selling his business in 2023, Andrew founded Sober Founders—a nonprofit community where business owners in recovery use the principles of the steps to solve real-world business problems. From navigating a DUI to scaling a company, Andrew’s journey is a masterclass in resilience and vulnerability.

In this episode, we dive into:

    • How a rock-bottom DUI became a turning point for professional success.
    • Why "practicing these principles in all our affairs" must include our bank accounts and boardrooms.
    • The power of vulnerability in leadership.
    • The creation of a community where sober entrepreneurs can find their "tribe."

If you’re a "multigrain" soul trying to navigate the complex world of business without losing your peace, this episode is a must-listen!
