Über diesen Titel

Contours of Silence invites you to pause and reflect on the quiet connections between photography, art, haiku, and life. Born from a personal journey of exploration, this podcast offers a space to slow down and consider the deeper, often unspoken moments that shape our creative and inner worlds.

Each episode is a brief, honest reflection, a thought or observation drawn from the ongoing process of creative discovery. It’s not about offering something entirely new, but rather sharing a perspective that may resonate with you—whether familiar or fresh, it’s an invitation to reflect.

As the name suggests, Contours of Silence is about the quiet spaces between the moments, the gentle unfolding of ideas, and the deepening understanding that comes with looking closely at art and life. There’s no claim to authority here, only an open invitation to join in this journey of mutual discovery—one episode at a time.

  • Process Of Field Work In Landscape Photography - Part 2
    Feb 17 2026

This episode traces the development of a personal fieldwork process, from its early structured phases involving Satipatthana meditation and haiku to a more simplified contemporary approach. It explores the delicate balance between the analytical mind and instinctive feeling, illustrating how haiku serves as a bridge between the two. The discussion also covers the shift toward intensive multi-day photography trips and the practical necessity of midday rest to sustain creative energy for the evening light.

  • Process Of Field Work In Landscape Photography - Part 1
    Jan 25 2026

In this episode, I examine the paradox of structure in the artistic life. While a rigid process can become a hindrance to free exploration, a lack of structure often leads to anxiety and a disconnected, mechanical approach to image-making. I share the specific routine I developed four years ago to manage the internal pressure to "deliver" results. By incorporating time for meditation and arriving well before the light, I explore how slowing down allows art to emerge as a natural byproduct of witnessing, rather than a forced objective.

  • How New Year Can Sometimes Lead Into Anatta Appreciation
    Jan 8 2026

A tradition repeats, yet nothing repeats. Each New Year’s Eve, a small painted ornament receives a private note; the next year, it is opened and read. The surprise is not what the note says, but who it seems to come from: the handwriting is recognizable, while the writer feels absent. From that simple discomfort, the reflection turns toward Anicca - the ceaseless unfolding of change - and Anatta - the absence of a fixed, permanent self. The episode invites a quieter kind of honesty: what moves through the year is less an “entity” and more a living process, reshaped by countless moments, with memory as a thread that also keeps changing.
