  • Crafting the Hillbilly Club 33 with a Moonshine Margarita
    Jun 23 2025

What happens when moonshine meets the Magic Kingdom? We're sipping on authentic moonshine margaritas from Disney's Fort Wilderness while dreaming up the most exclusive—and eccentric—club Disney has never seen.

Prepare yourself for a wild journey as we craft "Hillbilly Club 33" from the ground up. This fictional collaboration between the Clampett family (yes, of Beverly Hillbillies fame) and the Disney empire reimagines luxury through Appalachian eyes. Picture a double-wide trailer perched above Frontierland's Golden Horseshoe, complete with taxidermy, toll paintings, and a grand chandelier made of deer antlers and gold-plated mason jars.

The dress code? Semi-clean overalls and straw hats only, please—no ball caps allowed at this highfalutin establishment. Membership costs range from delightfully peculiar (payment in homemade preserves) to outlandishly specific (one pound of meth or 100 squirrels for the kitchen). Perks include private ride entrances disguised as barn doors, exclusive access to front porches on Main Street, and birthday announcements in Jed Clampett's voice over park loudspeakers.

We've developed an entire menu of signature moonshine cocktails, from the Backwoods Mule to the Possum Punch, alongside culinary innovations like caviar grits, trailer park nachos, and Moon Pie Mountain dessert. Each menu item balances the line between parody and genuine intrigue—much like our entire concept.

This episode captures the joy of reimagining Disney's exclusive experiences through a different cultural lens, asking what happens when backwoods meets VIP status. Listen in and let your imagination run wild with us—just don't forget your flask of shine and straw hat!

  • Goofy for President: Building a Cabinet of Disney Characters with a Bramble
    Jun 16 2025

    Send us a text

Pour yourself a Bramble and join us for a delightfully silly political fantasy: What if Goofy ran for president?

As we mix this raspberry-forward cocktail from Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, we craft a surprisingly thoughtful platform for Disney's most lovable klutz. With campaign slogans like "Not left, not right, just goofy" and "Leadership with a lopsided smile," we envision a presidency focused on kindness, community, and the occasional pie distribution program.

Goofy's domestic policies would transform America into a "Joyful Nation" with tax breaks for dessert companies, federal employees required to dance throughout their workday, and expanded national parks. His "fun-jocational" approach to education would emphasize arts, outdoor learning, and yes—homework that involves watching cartoons. Meanwhile, his "Goofstead Act" would revitalize neighborhoods through community gardens, block parties, and local involvement in schools.

We meticulously assemble Goofy's dream cabinet, debating which Disney characters would best complement his leadership style. Minnie Mouse earns unanimous approval as Chief of Staff for her organizational prowess, while former opponent Scrooge McDuck heads Treasury. Other inspired picks include Mulan for Defense, Pocahontas for Interior, and Donald Duck as Press Secretary (can you imagine those briefings?).

By the time we reach Goofy's inauguration speech, our silly thought experiment reveals something meaningful: perhaps what America really needs is a leader who reminds us that "we don't need to be perfect to care for each other. Maybe we just need a big heart, an open ear, and courage to do what's right, even if we trip over our own shoes along the way."

Subscribe for more pop culture cocktails and conversations that find surprising depth in delightfully goofy premises!

  • May the Wallet Be With You: The Galaxy's Edge Splurge Guide with a Jedi Mind Trick
    Jun 9 2025

    Send us a text

What would it look like to spend an entire day exclusively in Galaxy's Edge as a dedicated Star Wars fan? We tackle this question by creating our own immersive itineraries focused solely on Batuu, breaking down every experience, meal, and purchase along the way.

Our detailed plans take you from rope drop to park close, maximizing every moment in this meticulously crafted Star Wars land. We start with early morning strategies – should you head straight to Rise of the Resistance or save it for later? – before mapping out perfect timing for iconic experiences like building your own lightsaber at Savi's Workshop ($219.99) and creating a droid companion at Droid Depot ($119.99).

Food and beverages play a crucial role in any Galaxy's Edge adventure. We share why the Ronto Morning Wrap makes the perfect breakfast ("hands down my favorite breakfast in the park"), when to schedule your Oga's Cantina reservations for maximum enjoyment, and whether those colorful milk concoctions are worth trying. From the Andorian Fried Tip-yip to the signature Jedi Mind Trick cocktail, we cover all the must-try consumables that enhance the immersive experience.

Beyond rides and food, we discuss shopping strategies at Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities, character encounters with Kylo Ren and Rey, and how to experience the land's special ambiance as day turns to night. Most importantly, we break down the complete cost – revealing how a full day exclusively in Galaxy's Edge can easily reach $800-1200 when including all experiences, meals, and souvenirs. Is it worth the splurge for the dedicated Star Wars fan who may not care about the rest of Disneyland? We think you might find the Force is strong with this particular adventure.

  • 52 Episodes & Still Drinking: A Year of Disney Cocktail Adventures with a Lapu Lapu
    Jun 2 2025

    Send us a text

Raise your pineapple cups and join us for our milestone 52nd episode celebration! We've come full circle by revisiting the Lapu Lapu from Tambu Lounge at Disney's Polynesian Resort - the very first drink we featured when our Disney cocktail adventure began one year ago.

With 52 Disney drinks under our belts, we're sharing our definitive rankings of the best and worst beverages across the parks and resorts. The Ottawa Apple from BaseLine Tap House earned unanimous praise as our top pick, while the Lapu Lapu, Cold Brew Martini, and surprisingly delicious Angry Bloody Rancor all made our favorite five list. Not every Disney concoction impressed us though - we didn't hold back our opinions on disappointments like the Mint Julep (which we both agreed was forgettable) and the Sunspot that made our faces pucker "like we were eating Lemon Heads."

The most fascinating revelations came from drinks that completely surprised us, like the PB&J Cocktail from TuneIn Lounge that sounded bizarre on paper but delivered unexpectedly delightful flavors. We also shared our bucket list beverages we're still eager to try - including the theatrical Uh-Oa! from Trader Sam's with its fire ritual and the intriguing La Cava Avocado featuring fresh avocado and hibiscus salt rim.

Our year of Disney drinking has taught us valuable lessons about our preferences too. Aaron gravitates toward sophisticated sipping cocktails where you can truly taste the quality spirits, while Christy discovered her love for Disney's creative martinis - noting they've yet to make a bad one. Whether you're planning your next Disney vacation or just looking for mixology inspiration, our anniversary episode offers the perfect blend of nostalgia, honest reviews, and tropical rum enjoyment.

Have a Disney drink you think we should feature? Send us your suggestions - we'll do the research and drink it for you! Cheers to many more years of Disney cocktail adventures!

  • From Magic Kingdom to Epcot: Two College Students Rank Disney World's Parks with a Dole Whip Cocktail
    May 26 2025

    Send us a text

Two 19-year-old college students bring fresh perspectives to Walt Disney World as they detail their adventures visiting all four Disney parks during their academic year in Florida. Eli and Addi, longtime Disneyland visitors, offer candid comparisons between the California and Florida parks that both seasoned Disney veterans and newcomers will find enlightening.

Animal Kingdom emerges as their surprise favorite, with both guests marveling at how completely transported they felt among its immersive landscapes. "I'll never forget seeing the floating mountains of Pandora for the first time," Addi shares, while Eli declares the Kilimanjaro Safari something he "could ride five times in a day." Their Thanksgiving day visit to Magic Kingdom serves as a cautionary tale of holiday crowds so intense that portions of the park were temporarily closed to additional guests.

The episode delivers practical insights for Disney World planning – from which parks might disappoint (Epcot ranked lowest despite housing their favorite ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) to why the Skyliner is the superior transportation option. They don't hold back on critiques, noting Hollywood Studios' inconsistent theming and Epcot's untapped potential, while offering thoughtful suggestions like adding a single attraction to each World Showcase country.

Whether you're debating which Disney coast offers the better experience or planning your first Walt Disney World vacation, this conversation provides the authentic perspective of young adults experiencing the parks with both fresh eyes and deep Disney knowledge. Their enthusiasm for the Disney Parks experience proves that magic transcends age – even when navigating the challenges of being broke college students at the most magical (and expensive) place on earth.

  • Halloween in the Parks: A Comprehensive Guide to Disney's After-Hours Parties with a Coney Negroni
    May 19 2025

    Send us a text

Step into the spooky side of Disney as we raise our Coney Negronis and dive deep into the most ghoulishly delightful events on both coasts. Having braved torrential Florida downpours at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and researched the increasingly popular Oogie Boogie Bash, we're sharing everything you need to know before booking your Halloween Disney adventure.

Our Mickey's Not-So-Scary experience at Magic Kingdom was unforgettable—even with rain so heavy it created rivers on walkways! We discovered the perfect rainy-night hack: washcloths in shoes to absorb moisture, and the undeniable value of both ponchos AND umbrellas for those notorious sideways Florida storms. Disney made it right with a complimentary Park Hopper pass, proving that even at their spookiest, the parks still deliver on magic.

Dressed as Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., we experienced firsthand how costumes enhance the celebration. Cast members saluted us, the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor interactive show acknowledged our presence, and we collected enough candy to last months. The late-night advantage can't be overstated—when families with young children depart around 9pm (especially at Disneyland), you might find yourself enjoying multiple consecutive rides on Splash Mountain with no wait!

The Oogie Boogie Bash at California Adventure sounds particularly compelling with its interactive treat trails featuring villains who engage directly with guests, the atmospheric Villain's Grove walkthrough, and the delightfully sinister Frightfully Fun Parade. While the food offerings at both events left something to be desired, the entertainment, character interactions, and dramatically reduced wait times make these events worth every penny of their $119-$199 price tags.

With Oogie Boogie Bash tickets going on sale soon (31 dates starting August 17th this year!), now's the time to decide which coast will host your Disney Halloween adventure. Take our advice: if weather is a concern, California's your best bet—but wherever you celebrate, these parties deliver a frightfully fun experience that regular park days simply can't match. Ready to make your spooky Disney dreams come true? These events sell out fast, so start planning now!

  • Does Walt Disney World Really Need Another Theme Park(?) with a Medina Mixer
    May 12 2025

    Send us a text

The unexpected announcement of a new Disney park in Abu Dhabi has completely reshuffled the conversation around Disney's expansion strategy. What started as a discussion about whether Walt Disney World needs a fifth gate to compete with Universal's Epic Universe quickly transformed into an analysis of Disney's global theme park portfolio and future plans.

When weighing the potential benefits of a fifth Disney World park, several compelling points emerge. A brand-new park would provide the perfect canvas for fresh concepts and untapped intellectual properties that don't quite fit within the existing framework. It could showcase international Disney attractions that most American visitors never experience, while simultaneously helping to distribute the notoriously dense Magic Kingdom crowds. With Disney's vast land holdings in Florida, space certainly isn't an issue – they've already secured approval for a fifth major park in their long-term development plan.

However, the drawbacks are significant. Current estimates suggest building a Disney park of Tokyo DisneySea's caliber would cost upwards of $17 billion – a staggering sum even for Disney. Meanwhile, all four existing Disney World parks desperately need updating, from the chronically outdated Tomorrowland to the half-day experience that Animal Kingdom often becomes for ride-focused visitors. Adding another park would also extend the typical Disney vacation to potentially 9-10 days, making the trip financially impossible for many families already stretching their budgets.

The Abu Dhabi announcement represents an exciting compromise. This new international venture allows Disney to flex their creative muscles with cutting-edge technology and immersive environments without diverting resources from much-needed improvements at Walt Disney World. There's speculation this Middle Eastern park could feature the most impressive Tomorrowland ever designed, potentially rivaling Tokyo DisneySea as Disney's crown jewel.

For Disney fans, the future looks bright whether they're planning to visit Florida or dreaming of international adventures. Rather than stretching themselves thin with a fifth Florida gate, Disney appears focused on maximizing the potential of their existing parks while simultaneously creating something truly revolutionary halfway around the world. What Disney innovation are you most excited to experience?

  • Banana Cabana Cocktails and School Bread: Aaron's Disney World Trip Report
    May 5 2025

    Send us a text

Have you ever watched someone experience Disney World for the first time? There's something magical about witnessing that transformation from skepticism to wonder. On our latest adventure to Florida, that's exactly what happened when Kristie, previously Disney-indifferent, fell head over heels for Animal Kingdom.

Our journey began with a coastal Florida road trip before diving into an action-packed two-day Disney experience. We strategically planned our park days, starting with Animal Kingdom where our rope drop strategy paid off magnificently. While crowds rushed to Flight of Passage, we conquered both Expedition Everest and Dinosaur before the park even opened to regular guests! This early start, combined with strategic Lightning Lane usage, allowed us to experience everything Animal Kingdom offers—from the breathtaking Festival of the Lion King show to the immersive animal trails where Christy spent so much time watching the gorillas we almost missed our next reservation.

Food became an unexpected highlight, especially at Satu'li Canteen where we discovered incredible non-meat options during our Lent Friday visit. The Chili Garlic Shrimp Bowl with sweet potato hash and surprising boba pearls created a flavor combination that was absolutely outstanding and has become a must-try recommendation.

Day two took us to Epcot during the bustling Flower and Garden Festival. Despite initial hesitation, rope dropping Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind proved to be the perfect decision. The 40-minute wait was more than worth it for what might be Disney's most thrilling and immersive new attraction. Living with the Land emerged as a surprising group favorite, while World Showcase provided essential food experiences like School Bread from Norway and fish and chips from the UK that were so good they've become a personal go-to.

Perhaps most valuable was our resort hopping experience, which gave us a broader appreciation for Disney's diverse accommodations. From the elegant Grand Floridian to the rustic charm of Port Orleans Riverside, these explorations helped shape future stay preferences while creating additional magical moments outside the parks.

Whether you're planning your first Disney trip or your fiftieth, we hope our experiences offer some helpful insights and inspiration. Have you witnessed someone's first Disney transformation? We'd love to hear your stories in the comments!
