At first glance the prayer Jesus gave his disciples to pray seems so simple...But The Lord's Prayer is far from that.

Why do we do what we do? Jesus warns his followers to not do good works to be celebrated by people but to bring glory to God. And that our true rewards come from our Father in Heaven.

Jesus commands his followers to love their enemies...No really!

We have the right to be compensated...But should we demand our rights?

Jesus is the greatest of teachers. He can say so much with just a few words. And if we take the time, it's amazing how much we can see.

Jesus challenged the leaders of his time who had twisted the word of God to fit their own designs. How often do we interpret the scriptures to justify our own desires?

God's Law is not given to keep us from enjoying the good life. Instead of a fence keeping us from pleasure, the law is a guard rail leading us to true joy in Him.

The Law of God is so much more than a series of "do's" and "don'ts." It is not a blueprint of how to please God through good behavior. Instead Jesus tells us that the Law points to a deeper truth and God's true expectations for his people.
