CCEP’s Brilliant Podcast is a new series brought to you by Coventry Cultural Education Partnership, exploring how we can better connect teachers, creatives, cultural organisations and more - so that children and young people can have greater access to cultural learning enabling them to flourish, thrive and be optimistic about their futures.

In this series you’ll hear brilliant practitioners discussing their experiences in arts, culture and education on a range of issues and themes: early years work, sustainability and green futures, wellbeing, and diversity. By gaining insight into shared major successes right through to the mistakes they’ve learnt from, we can all learn, grow, spread our impact further, and help make children’s lives better.

If you’d like to get involved in helping us to make sure that Coventry is a place where all children and young people can be brilliant, sign up to become a Cultural Champion at coventrycep.org.uk.

  • Diversity
    Jun 3 2023

Coventry was named one of the UK’s most diverse cities in September 2022, but we still have so much work to do in making every young person feel included.

In the final episode of this series, Reena Jaisiah (Caste Away Arts), Laura Nyahuye (Maokwo), and Anthony Ruck (Culture Central) discuss how arts and cultural partnerships can transform the lives of young people in our brilliant city so that they feel fully seen, heard and represented.

    May 10 2023

In increasingly difficult times, young people - and the practitioners that work with them - need their wellbeing supported more than ever.

In our third episode, we’re joined by Kyla Craig (Art Riot Collective), Sarah Grove (Grapevine) and Kerry Harvey (The Starfish Collaborative) to discuss the subject of wellbeing, and the role that arts and cultural partnerships play in supporting young people to thrive, feel safe, grow, and express themselves with more confidence. Together, we’ll also explore how we can support practitioners in this process too.

In this episode we talk about the environment and sustainability.

How does partnership working help engage children and young people on an issue that can sometimes feel overwhelming, disempowering and inaccessible?

Together with Dom Breadmore (Ludic Rooms), Anna Bright (Sustainability West Midlands) and Kathi Leahy (Imagineer Productions), we’ll be exploring how arts and culture can play a role in engaging young people to think about what they can do to make real change for our environment and collective futures.
