Über diesen Titel

Hi, I’m Yasmin Shaheen-Zaffar - a neurodivergent trauma and relationship therapist, and what some call The Situationship Expert. But at heart, I’m a storyteller.

Welcome to Build Better Bonds with the Creative Reset - a space for honest conversations about how we connect, disconnect, and find our way back to each other.

I started this podcast because so many of us are living in a kind of emotional static - protecting ourselves while longing to be seen, struggling to hold both love and fear in the same breath.

And I wanted to explore what happens when we bring creativity into that space - when we let art, music, words, and movement help us listen again, not just to others, but to our own nervous systems.

Beyond the therapy room, I work with artists, filmmakers, and storytellers to bring emotionally honest stories to life - the kind that touch the silences between words. Because I believe real life is the most powerful story we have.

So this podcast is part connection, part creativity, part human. You’ll hear me chat with guests about relationships, regulation, identity, and the creative ways we heal - as individuals, and as communities.

At the heart of it all is connection - the thing we’re all wired for, even when we’ve forgotten how to reach for it.

So, take a breath. Settle in. And together, let’s explore how creativity can help us build better bonds - one conversation at a time.

  • Behind the Edible Underwear Club: Mental Health, Christmas, and the Power of Storytelling
    Dec 4 2025

In this powerful first episode, Yasmin chats with actress, writer, and indie filmmaker Zoe Craft for a raw and deeply human conversation about grief, creativity, and the healing that happens when people dare to express what once felt unspeakable.

Zoe shares her extraordinary journey - losing both parents within two weeks at age 21, navigating isolation, emerging adulthood and the long, complicated reality of grief.

She opens up about the anger she never knew she was holding, the loneliness of early adulthood, and the unexpected places she found belonging.

    Together, Yasmin and Zoe explore:

    • how grief changes identity, confidence, and relationships
    • why creativity becomes a lifeline when words run out
    • the loneliness many feel at Christmas but never talk about
    • the mental health threads woven through her debut feature film
    • what it takes to make an indie movie with heart, humour, and honesty
    • navigating fear, uncertainty, and vulnerability as a creative
    • the messy beauty of partnership, collaboration, and co-regulation
    • how community becomes family - especially when death leaves you alone.

Zoe also shares the unexpected emotional journey behind The Edible Underwear Club, her first feature film (created with partner Luke), a Christmas indie about bad vibrators, call centres, and the hidden mental health struggles so many face during the holidays.

This episode is funny, moving, and unexpectedly tender - a reminder that behind every piece of art is a human story of survival.

🎬 Film Premiere: The Edible Underwear Club - December 6th, Rio Cinema, Dalston. Tickets on Eventbrite.

    💛 Mentioned in this episode:

    • grief, belonging, and “post-traumatic growth”.
    • St. Peter & St. James Hospice (grief support).
    • the nervous system, loneliness, and the holidays.
    • creative expression as a form of healing.

If you've ever felt alone, felt grief, lost in your twenties, or afraid to follow your creative instincts, this episode is for you. 💛

  • Creativity as Survival: The Beginning | An Introduction To Build Better Bonds Wit The Creative Reset | Hosted By Yasmin Shaheen-Zaffar
    Nov 25 2025

Build Better Bonds with the Creative Reset® is a podcast for people who want to understand why we love the way we do - and why connection can feel so hard, even with the people we care about most.

Hosted by Yasmin Shaheen-Zaffar - a neurodivergent social entrepreneur, trauma & relationship counsellor, and The Situationship Expert - this podcast dives into the raw, unfiltered layers of human behaviour, disconnection, and the nervous system patterns that quietly shape our relationships.

Here, we don’t do perfection. We do honesty. Curiosity. And the kind of creative healing that has carried many of us through the darkest moments - creativity as survival, as expression, as a doorway back to ourselves.

Through intimate conversations and fearlessly tender storytelling, we explore the complexity of being human - from neurodivergent experiences and identity to rupture, repair, and the courageous act of choosing connection again.

Whether through art, movement, culture, or the quiet bravery of telling the truth, each episode offers a reminder: healing is not linear… but it is possible.

If you want connection? You need courage. And maybe… a creative reset.
