Tallahassee Police Dept. Special Victims Unit and Patrol Units, and Scent Evidence K9 Bloodhound Help Find Missing 11-year-old! TPD’s Special Victims Unit and Patrol Officers responded to a missing 11-year-old call on 6/20/2023. Bloodhound K9 Stella and handler Paul Coley, along with K9 trainer Ryan Nieto, were called in to assist in the search for the missing child. The trail was 2 hours old when Coley used the SEKR Scent Evidence Vacuum to collect a scent article from the youth’s bed. The search lasted 4 hours in the brutal Florida heat and covered 4.5 miles. Just as K9 Stella took a much-needed break from the heat, the missing child was located by TPD 100 yards ahead and returned safely to the family.

Thanks to the Tallahassee Police Department and the SVU for working through the elements to find the missing child. TPD is a highly successful Bringing The Lost Home Program agency with multiple lifesaving missing person recoveries to their credit.
