A power imbalance is at play between artists and labels. In many cases, emerging artists, eager to break into the industry, find themselves in vulnerable positions when negotiating contracts. Labels, armed with their legal teams and industry expertise, often possess the upper hand, leading to contracts that heavily favour the label's interests. These imbalances can result in artists inadvertently signing away their rights and enduring unfair revenue splits, thus hampering their artistic growth and financial well-being.
