Roy Love, USN (ret), was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the U.S. in 1983. He deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009. He Commanded the Fast Frigate USS BOONE in June 2010. He Commanded Naval Base San Diego (NBSD), the second-largest Naval Base in the U.S., and was the first Hispanic/Afro Latino to lead the installation. He led the base in winning the Commander in Chief Installation Excellence Award in 2019. He is the President of the Association of Naval Services Officers (ANSO) - www.ansomil.org
