The suspect for that charge remained unnamed because local laws prevented authorities from naming the suspect.  On December 30, 2022 – A Romanian judge approved prosecutors’ request to extend the detention to 30 days — Tate and the other suspects appealed the ruling. (30-day preventive detention)  On January 4, 2023 – The Romanian authorities began seizing the Tate brother’s property (will go more into that later)  January 10, 2023 – The Bucharest court to appeal denied the Tate brothers and the two Romanian women appeal against their 30-day detention. (Preventive detention appeal denied)  On January 20, 2023 – The Tate brother’s detention was extended for another 30 days until February 27 allowing the prosecutors to continue their investigation into human trafficking and organized crime allegations. (Now 1st 30-day preventive detention extension).  We will later discuss what the judge took into account when making their decision to extend the detention.   Sometime in late January 2023 – The Tate brothers hired Tina Glandian a prominent American criminal defense attorney. More on her later.  In the morning of February 1, 2023 – Tina Glandian held a press conference to introduce herself as representing the Tate brothers alongside their current Romanian legal defense team. Then later that night she made an appearance on the Piers Morgan show.  Later that day February 1, 2023 – The Tate brothers and the two Romanian women appealed the first 30-day detention extension. The four argued the extended detention is “not necessary” — but the court rejected their appeal and upheld their detention until February 27.  (1st 30-day preventive detention extension appeal got denied)  On February 21, 2023 – the Bucharest Tribunal granted the prosecutors’ plea to keep the Tate Brothers in custody for an additional 30 days. (This would be the second extension of their preventive detention so looking at 90 days now).  However, Georgiana and Luana aka Tate’s Angels or lieutenants were granted bail and would be placed under house arrest.  (Now 2nd 30-day preventive detention extension).    TOPICS to be discussed in Part 1 of this update & CITATIONS:   Old news that I missed from January 4, 2023: An article from the International Business Times.
