What happens when God’s people keep up religious appearances but quietly resent His Word?
In Amos 8, the Lord confronts a kind of hypocrisy that looks faithful on the outside but is hollow at the core—and He warns of devastating consequences: final judgment, suffering neighbors, remembered sin, and ultimately, a famine of hearing the Word of the Lord.
