Über diesen Titel
🎙 In today’s episode, we’re focusing on giving BIRTH and all the emotional, psychological, and mental health experiences that can come with it.
Joining Jas is guest host Kezia Matheison, a psychotherapist who specialises in perinatal mental health. Together, they explore birth not just as a physical event, but as a deeply emotional experience that can bring up fear, vulnerability, power, loss, relief, trauma, and everything in between.
Hear them talk about expectations versus reality, how birth experiences can impact mental health, identity, and relationships, and why birth stories deserve space, especially in therapy. Whether your experience of birth was positive, complicated, traumatic, or still something you’re processing, this episode is for you.
About Kezia: Kezia is a CBT psychotherapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 11 years of experience supporting young people and adults. She specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has a particular interest in perinatal mental health, including birth trauma, perinatal anxiety, depression, OCD, and tokophobia (fear of childbirth). Her passion for this area was shaped by her own journey into parenthood. Kezia holds a BSc in Mental Health Nursing and a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT. She is BABCP accredited and registered with the NMC, with further training in Compassion Focused Therapy and Behavioural Family Therapy.
