It's a cool take on cybershit without the usual neolib bs.
The world certainly has distopian elements but I like how, unlike in most cyberpunk-esque stuff, this is contrasted with utopian ideas and empathetic characters.
Also there is a lot of queer representation that doesn't feel forced or like lip service. Queerness is casually mentioned when it's relevant.
While the story draws from real life events and places (I'm thinking Syrian civil war and the situation in NE Syria) its certainly creative and futuristic in a believable way.
I really liked some of the ideas for the "chrome" people are wearing and how the posthumans are written.
What I did not like at times were the mentions of violence against innocents. Violence in cyberpunk is to be expected and all, but at the anti-queer violence resembled real life stuff a bit too much to be part of an enjoyable story (for me personally)
I think some content notes for that would've been nice.
Otherwise it was actually really good.
Also, "Rolling Fuck" and all that? Hilarious! I loved that :D

Gripping story and interesting setting. I'd have loved content notes though.
