The story is about a child who asks their father about the value of their life. The child holds up two fingers when asked the price of the stone, and each place values the stone differently. The old man in the shop of precious stones values the stone the highest, offering $200,000 for it. The father then explains to the child that the value of their life is determined by where they place themselves, and it's up to the child to determine their worth and value.
