As health nuts, we obsess over calories, chemicals and sunlight, but we rarely think about two things we consume more than anything else on earth: air and water. This is Part 1 of a two part series on clean air and clean water.

The truth is that your home is built from synthetic, petroleum-based materials. We're surrounded by microplastics, VOCs, air fresheners, off-gassing furniture, and chemical cleaners. Our water treatment plants pump chlorine and fluoride into municipal water systems, along with trace pharmaceutical residues, industrial runoff, and contaminants that were never part of the original design.

In other words, we no longer live in natural environments. Instead, we live in man made, manufactured environments that actually make us sick.
