Motivation is like fireworks. It’s bright, exciting, flashy, pretty, powerful, adrenaline rush. But it only last a few seconds and then it is gone and its dark again. Where self-discipline is like an old wood stove. Not flashy, or exciting, takes longer to get started, but once its started it keeps going with little effort and keeps the house warm all winter. Self-discipline always trumps motivation. Motivation is emotional. Self-discipline is a guideline of what you do 90% of the time.
