Book 1 is dead boring because the female lead doesn’t evolve from a “Karen” into a stronger, smarter character. You could predict her every move and reaction before she even knew what was coming. 😉
I'll give Book 2 a try and hope for the best. It's a set of two audiobooks; otherwise, I wouldn't have bought Book 2.
