In the hottest summer on record, Iron Lake reservoir is emptying, revealing secrets that were intended to stay hidden beneath the water.
Best-selling horror writer Chris Lassiter struggles for inspiration and he's close to never writing again. His life has become an endless loop of nothing but empty pages, personal appearances, and a marketing machine that is systematically destroying his muse. In a desperate attempt to force Chris to complete unfinished manuscripts his agent buys a remote cabin. All Chris has to do is hide away and write, but he's lost his muse, and not even he can make stories appear from thin air.
Sawyer Wiseman left town for Chicago, chasing the excitement and potential of being a big city cop, rising the ranks, and making his mark. A case gone horribly wrong draws him back to Lancaster Falls. Working for the tiny police department in the town he'd been running from, digging into cold cases and police corruption, he spends his day's healing, and his nights hoping the nightmares of his last case leave him alone.
Contains mature themes.

Continue the series
His agent has booked Chris into the old cabin near sleepy Lancaster Falls, hoping this will help him write the sequal of his best-selling horror book series with Hollywood urgently waiting in the background. But then the hottest summer in Pennsylvania dries Iron Lake reservoir and suddenly Sawyer and Chris face a situation that could have been right out of one of his own horror stories.
Gosh, this story is soooooo good! When I saw the title I knew I could not resist it, although the word „Trilogy“ warned me. This is a true RJ Scott book, grabbing you right from the beginning with two strong and very likable MC s and multilayerd storylines actually. There is the one with Sawyer working cold cases that suddenly become very much relevant, leaving us readers with more questions than answers. Thanks to Chris we also get a good insight view into the writing and creating process of a story. And there is this hot and tender romance between the brooding cop and the struggeling author. I am really antsy now wanting to know how this story continues. Please, dear RJ Scott, don´t suffer from a writing block like Chris and give out book 02 soon! It is sooooo hard to wait!
Sean Crisden´s voice is simply perfect for this mystery upon mystery story! His voice variantions truely bring Sawyer, Chris and all the side characters „alive“. Wow, and the hot scenes really make your ears turn red. There is so much tragic and secret town history slowly unfolding with Mr. Crisden providing a stunning narration of the author´s world, it sucks your right into it all instantly. It is scary, mysterious, romantic, hot and intriguing all at the same time.
My new RJScott favourite! Eagerly waiting for more
