Found the book good and a good romp through the pages, but not as well written as previous books I have read from the same author. Fun, but not as good as I had hoped.

I normally like Richard Osman‘s works but this one was a difficult read and I can’t get myself to finish it. Characters remain one-dimensional, the story meanders but somehow also remains flat. The narrative arch doesn’t develop in a way that motivates to move on. And the speaker isn‘t helpful. Her voice lacks the voice inflection and quality that could keep the reader interested. Rarely I put a book down before the end but this is such a rare occasion… how unfortunate.
