Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they're worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Empfehlenswert!
überraschend gut!

But . . . I do have an issue with the story itself, wich has logical gaps you could fly a star liner through ! For instance, Tarver (the male protagonist) is barely nineteen years old, enlisted at age sixteen, yet already a major (!) in the armed forces with seemingly years of experience in survival and military actions. Also, we discover in Book two, he has served with another main character long enough she refers to him as "her old captain". War hero or no, he simply does not talk and act like any nineteen year old I have ever known.
Another glaring inconsistency is the area of space travel: Gigantic space ships routinely move through "hyperspace", apparently fast enough for rescue ships to appear at aforementioned alien planet within hours of dispatching a distress call. The same technology is used by the bad guys to create stationary "rifts" to another universe, where sapient energy entities are enslaved, yet no one (exept for the bad guys) really seems to know how hyper travel works ? I call that . . . highly unlikely.
Also, speaking of technology, apart from FTL-Travel, most tech mentioned seems very like what we have today. I'd say the authors need to work a bit on their world-building to create a more consistent and believable background for their otherwise perfectly good story.
Romantic, but . . .
