Wren Heyden lebt aufgrund eines Feuermals auf der linken Gesichtshälfte seit 20 Jahren zurückgezogen bzw. geht nur verschleiert auf die Straße. Nach dem Tod ihrer geliebten Tante und Onkel innerhalb weniger Tage, die ihr eine sehr gut laufende Glasfabrik und ein enormes Vermögen hinterlassen haben, nimmt ihre Vereinsamung zu. Um ihr Bedürfnis nach Familie zu erfüllen veranstaltet sie eine Art Casting für mögliche Ehemänner. Die Story erzählt die Entwicklung der Beziehung der beiden Helden. Im Prinzip ist dies gut entwickelt, dennoch hat die Geschichte eine niederdrückende Atmosphäre, ist nicht wirklich spannend und alle Protagonisten werden gegen Ende "zu gut für diese Welt", das Ende ist platt und langweilig. Die Geschichte ist so wenig in meinem Gedächtnis geblieben, dass ich sie versehentlich ein zweites Mal kaufte.
