My name is Gary Rendell. I'm an astronaut. When they asked me as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "astronaut, please!" I dreamed astronaut, I worked astronaut, I studied astronaut. I got lucky; when a probe exploring the Oort Cloud found a strange alien rock and an international team of scientists was put together to go and look at it, I made the draw.

I got even luckier. When disaster hit and our team was split up, scattered through the endless cold tunnels, I somehow survived.

Now I'm lost, and alone, and scared, and there's something horrible in here.

Lucky me.

Ganz nett zum einmal hören für Sci-fi fans. Die Rückblenden der Crew Interaktionen waren charmant.

Great premise, told in an uplifting, funny way. Has a different tone then the usual Sci-Fi Stories which is refreshing. The ending is unexpected and slightly anticlimatic. Still a Great short story!

"Well, some Audio-Snack fonin between *real* books (10+ hrs)" was what I thought.
And geeee I am delighted to have tried it! The description text doesnt do it justice.
The Story has a perfekt Arc, the characters development ist on Point and -best of the best- comes with this very special britisch humor, or shall I say, way of describing Events that leaves little trails of dust because of its dryness.
Ready by the author himself this is full in recommendation. Loved it!

Entertaining story, narrative is quite enjoyable and the fact that the author is the reader as well is a highlight.
However, and it's my personal opinion, Adrian Tchaikovsky's books are so rather rich in characters, so just by an audiobook it is sometimes difficult to get the full grasp of the history.
