Slow start, increasingly becoming intriguing

What starts like Downton Abbey, slowly but steadily turns into an intriguing espionage thriller, full of suspense and with a great flavour of the 1930s - very skilfully read. Given the elaborate dialogues and detailed descriptions, one wonders why it has not been turned into a film yet.
