After playing Dungeons and Dragons for quite a while, I turned to the novels. I always liked Ravenloft and started with the first published book. I enjoyed the story in general, but it could have been shorter, for a quite long time hardly anything happens.

To long-winded

To state the obvious, the Vistani characters and accents don't hold up in 2024. But what a creative story that fits perfectly into the rest of the Ravenloft/Strahd storyline, yet still being good story on its own. A MUST for DMs who want to build a deeper world for running Curse of Strahd 5e.

Surely outdated but the world building is to die for.
