Über diesen Titel

“For twelve years, others have tried to tell our story. Tried to put into words how two ten-year-old twins came to be called the biggest pop phenomenon in the Nordics. Now it’s our turn.”

Sold-out concerts, prestigious awards and screaming fans were everyday life for Marcus and Martinus for many years, but just as they were set to embark on their first world tour, everything they had built collapsed. As the pandemic spread, the twin brothers found themselves isolated in their hometown, forced to face their first major crisis. And while the situation offered them the chance to live a normal life, one question gnawed at them: Would their audience welcome them back—as adult artists?

In Two Hearts, One Beat, Marcus and Martinus, share for the first time the darker side of growing up in the spotlight, the crash that threatened to destroy everything they had worked for—and how hard it can be to find your own voice when you’ve always been one of two.

Reader: Overall, it’s okay. There are clear, noticeable cuts with intonation changes, and the frequent mispronunciation of a Norwegian song title and the artists’ or co-authors’ names (especially noticeable in Chapter 10) can be a bit off-putting at times.

Story: As a Marcus & Martinus fan (biased POV), I feel the author put together a really well-rounded story with a coherent flow. The narrative is told from the perspectives of the co-authors (and their relatives) in a highly immersive way. The emotions feel real and are not over-exaggerated, making it easy to empathize and even get emotional at certain points. Overall, this is a great audiobook that I would consider a must-listen for any MMer (fan) and a recommended one for outsiders who are interested in the “phenomenon” of Marcus & Martinus and how starting an entertainment career at such a young age (10) can impact a life, with all its challenges, opportunities, and sacrifices.

A fans‘s must and a good outsider‘s insight
