I love the Other universe and while this book differs with a new world, magic system and characters it has many similarities. Such as the arcana with the others and the conflict between humans and the different species. Different viewpoints weave together to one overall story and picture. Thankfully the POV chapters of unlikable characters are short. I loved it and was quite happy that my wait was rewarded with this great and lengthy novel, which was even better than what I've hoped for.
Now I'm hooked and want to know more about Beth's journey and all the people I've fallen in love with.
