Good read, nothing special though, standard space opera. For someone who wants to hear to something light while for example working out.

I was tempted to stop after the first 30 minutes and am so glad I didn't.
I really enjoyed this series although it wasn't really surprising. the Charakters are great and I liked the Story especially because there's not a lot of romance going on.

A well told and unexpectedly entertaining story. No Nobel price material. A really nice and hearty space adventure.

This is by far the worst performance of an Audiobook I had so far. I personally found the voice fairly unpleasant. More important is the way the book was read. Each sentence sounded as if it stood alone, as if the reader was ticking of a list. The reader failed to give the characters different voices and to transmit emotions. This made it hard to get involved and connect to the Character, pulling the story down.
The story itself is ok, starts a little slow but picks up speed. Still I found it hard to connect to the protagonist. The end was a bit disappointing. I realize this is part one of a series, but even then it should have been possible to tie up the main lose end enough to make it a round story. There are plenty of excellent book serieses which manage this. I might buy the next book as a print or as an audiobook with a different reader, but certainly not with the same reader.
