Um diese Geschichte wirklich zu genießen, muss man vergessen wie extrem unwahrscheinlich es ist, das z.B. ein Strassenkind als Lady durchgeht, all die notwendigen Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse hat und nebenbei auch noch ein hervorragende Reiterin und Schützin ist und als vorgebliche Magd das Gewand einer Lady mit sich herumträgt . Aber wenn man die Handlungen nicht allzu kritisch betrachten, ist es ein richtig schönes Märchen. Carver, seine Familie und Rose sind sehr sympathisch gezeichnet.
Die Sprecherstimme ist mir manchmal zu soft.

I happened upon this book when I was looking into other audiobooks this narrator had and was delighted to find such a gem in the free section. I loved it so much that I deleted it (don't stop reading right here, please) and actually bought it so that it will never disappear if I change my subscription. The duke's family is so wonderful that you - as a listener (or reader) - feel embraced as much as the characters.
