Er ist ein sehr sympathischer Earl, mit all seinen menschlichen Unzulänglichkeiten kämpft er um sie. Aber Grace ist kaum auszuhalten und in ihren verqueren Gedanken stößt sie ihn, obwohl sie ihn begehrt, ständig von sich, denn sie will ihm ja nicht dem schlechten Ruf, den ihre Familie dem verstorbenen Vater zu verdanken hat, aussetzen. Lieber lässt sie ihre Mutter und Schwester auf den Abgrund zutaumeln …
