The story around the discovery of pharao Tutenchamun’s grave in 1922, told from the perspective of the 11-year-old Lucy and parts of it in hindsight as the old lady she has become, it becomes the story of her live and the lives of a group of people who got to know each other when observing the excavations. The story gets depth through portraying the personalities of the excavators Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon and the group of people around them. Laurel Lefkow is an absolutely marvelous speaker: With the modulations of her wonderful voice, she conjures up a movie before the inner eye of the listener and lets the children, men and women come to life.
