The Thirst like its stablemates is a bulky but zippy 500-pager which never loiters in one place for long. Nesbø keeps you guessing with his usual bag of tricks, making everyone seem a little suspect (or almost everyone). His cynicism about bent coppers and unscrupulous journalists is an inexhaustible and entertaining sideshow...if you liked the other ten, you'll greedily sink your teeth into this

An excellent reading of a story which is for the most part absorbing (and rich in gore). Harry Hole fans won't be disappointed, but those who are new to the series should probably read Nesbo's earlier - equally gritty - Norwegian noir novels first. This one has a wealth of distinctive characters and a number of surprising twists in the closing chapters, even though some sections also require a certain suspension of disbelief.

Jo Nesbo bleibt sich treu. Fans der Harry Hole Reihe dürfte daher die Geschichte gefallen. Man bekommt mal wieder einen wendungsreichen Serien-Killer-Thriller geliefert.
Und genau darin liegt bei mir der Grund, warum ich nur drei Sterne vergeben mag. Das Hörbuch fand ich sicherlich nicht schlecht, denn es war unterhaltsam und nicht langweilig.

Abzug gibt es bei mir aber für folgende Eindrücke:
- Serien-Killer-Storys sind mir zu gleichförmig aufgebaut, der Band ist hier leider keine Ausnahme
- nicht wirklich spannend
- für Viel-Leser dieses Genres meines Erachtens zu vorhersehbar

Sehr gut gefallen hat mir in jedem Fall der Sprecher Sean Barrett. Er passt sehr gut zur Harry Hole Reihe mit seiner tiefen Stimme und genau der richtigen Portion Betonung: weder übertrieben noch hölzern runtergeleiert.

Trotz dessen, dass mich dieser Band nicht vom Hocker reißt, werde ich auch den nächsten Teil, wenn es denn einen gibt, lesen oder hören. Ich hoffe, dass mal wieder eine Story ohne Serientäter kommt. Diese Harry Hole Bände haben mir nämlich wirklich gut gefallen.

Nichts wirklich Neues, anscheinend viel Jo nesbo nach den letzten Hole-Büchern keine wirklich neue Idee ein, etwas Abklatsch aus den letzten Büchern ... sicherlich eines der schlechteren !
