Inhaltsangabe
Now a major BBC drama: The Strike series.
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, she just thinks he has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home.
But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realises. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published it would ruin lives - so there are a lot of people who might want to silence him.
And when Quine is found brutally murdered in bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to understand the motivation of a ruthless killer, a killer unlike any he has encountered before....
A compulsively readable crime novel with twists at every turn, The Silkworm is the second in the highly acclaimed series featuring Cormoran Strike and his determined young assistant Robin Ellacott.

Kritikerstimmen
"One of the most unique and compelling detectives I've come across in years." (Mark Billingham on The Cuckoo's Calling)

"The novel is the work of a master storyteller." (Daily Telegraph on The Cuckoo's Calling)

When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

She is an exceptionally successful writer whose obsessive readers hound her for every book. But the pressure is extreme. And it’s not just the pressure of finishing her next novel. Years ago when she was a child, Lucy’s little brother went missing, and he has never been found. Many people think Lucy was responsible for his disappearance. Lucy herself can’t bear to think about it. Writing a thriller a year is demanding, and Lucy depends on her husband, Dan, to take care of everything in her life. But Lucy finds herself in a real police drama when Dan goes missing.

Alles Super!

Alright
Likable characters, but the story is pretty outrageous - not only is the murder plot itself rather unbelievable, the extent and accuracy of the detective's "instinct", i.e. guesswork, seems very improbable. I also could have done without the repeated mentions of guts and holed-out carcasses and ever-present descriptions of Strike's difficulties with his leg. Well written and well read though.

Interessante Story, interessante Charaktere.

Robert Glenister reads perfectly!
Robert Galbraith isn't bad either. I'm stunned at the performance of the narrator though. His variety of voices fitting each character perfectly. His mastery of London accents. I enjoyed this audio book very much. I couldn't have read it myself with so much depth.
