I love all the audiobooks from Eva Ibbotson that I listened to so far, but this one I liked the best. Speaker is also great.

Very lovely story

The only thing I didn’t love was the vicious descriptions of fat people (chiefly Raymond). Fatness and overeating are repeatedly and explicitly equated with spoiledness, laziness, snobbery and selfishness. Out here in the real world, it’s often poverty, mental distress and lack of care for one’s health and needs that make people overeat or eat unhealthy food. I find it important that kids not judge themselves or others on their amount of body fat and this story does the opposite by enforcing this cruel and untrue stereotype
