Im zweiten Band beginnt man sich zu fragen, ob Trudi Canavan Charaktere homosexuell macht, um sie interessanter zu machen, oder ob es ihr Hauptanliegen darin besteht, möglichst viel Homosexualität zu featuren. Vorweg: Ich finde es toll, einen schwulen Protagonisten zu haben. Aber es ist schade, dass er ausschließlich auf dieses Attribut beschränkt wird.

Ansonsten ist die Geschichte vorhersehbar und über weite Strecken passiert einfach nichts Interessantes. Das kann nicht einmal Richard Aspels gewohnt guter Erzählstil retten.
