Outstanding review on russian war in Ukraine
The book helps to find an explanation to why russians blindly follow the command of the fascist regime and kill tens of thousands of civil people in Ukraine.

Highly recommended!
A great book explaining a lot what is happening in today’s world. My first book of Timothy Snyder and for sure not the last. Read by the author himself is a fascinating journey through history and politics. A must read!

maybe choose a better r speaker next time
the book was amazing but because he's voice was so monotone i felt like it was dragging. I don't want to disrespect the Author, this is just my opinion.

excellent, enlightening

original ideas and investigative journalism but
turns into an embarrassing political pamphlet near the end: single causality for complex economic processes, speaking of top x % of population as though they were the same people and not different people at different times, and taking property prices in San Francisco (one of the most expensive cities in the world due to its proximity to Silicon Valley) to exaggerate inequality. Still worth the time

Chilling and insightful
The most chilling thing is the utter ruthlessness that’s behind all of this. The most frightening thing is how easy the Zombification of the people is. That’s why this is such an important book. If we see what’s going on then we might still be able to do something about it.
