Isabel Spencer's painting may be one she comes to regret forever. But, it leads to something unexpectedly magical. And dangerous. She was a normal teenage girl, just trying to make enough money to help her dad, and keep her home.

Her mom was gone, she had no friends. And, she was failing high school. It couldn't get any worse. Until she decided to paint. And after painting, she made something that was more alarming than trying to hold all of her feelings inside. It was as if the painting was following her, haunting her, every second. But getting away from it isn't an option anymore.

Because then she meets Calen Voss, a mysterious but very kind teenage boy. Together, they travel to the so-called place in Isabel's painting. He claims it's real.
