Once again Mary Lawson does her magic and unfolds - in two different timelines set in the same small rural town - a family story of great depth. Her writing is impeccable, the characters are multi-facetted, flawed as we all are, and deeply human. Above all, the relationship of two very different brothers is at the core of this wonderful novel. The narrator is masterful and makes every character come vividly to life.
A must-read!
