Über diesen Titel
Survivors of an apocalypse take refuge in a mountain fortress and face enemies both living and undead in the first three books of this horror series.
Mountain Man: Ever since civilization collapsed in a wave of chaos and blood, Gus Berry has been waking up, getting drunk, and preparing for the day when “they” will come up the side of his mountain. But when Gus encounters another survivor while out scavenging for supplies, he realizes there are other threats on the post-apocalyptic horizon.
Safari: Living on the outskirts of a zombie-infested city, Gus has grown accustomed to the perils he faces on a daily basis. But now the zombies are disappearing, and a mysterious new threat is assembling—something even more relentless and terrifying than the roaming tides of dead flesh. And it’s preparing to hunt . . .
Hellifax: In a world overrun with zombies, Scott is hunting a remorseless killer who’s all too human. Following the murderer from Annapolis to the ice-glazed landscape of Halifax, Scott encounters half-frozen deadheads, infected vermin, and a few remaining survivors struggling to find safety. Welcome to Hellifax.

maybe 4 to 5 books is a little much, but it always stays interesting and exiting.
Powerful story, well told...

We all saw in the last years how soldiers had to decide every day between an armor that's slowing them down but are saving them from shrapnel and bullets from hand arms like assault rifles, and such or to favor speed over armor. I know that this was written a long time before the war and he hasn't a cristall bowl that could've showing him the future but this are things one should have in mind.
the second thing is, while many American food articles aren't allowed in Europe, an epedimic like this could easily get all over the world before we would be able to identify the danger of such an illness. The world os a village and nothing made it more clear then the Covid 19 epidemic that were transported all over the planet before we even knew it.
What I don't like in most (even good zombie books) is that the freshly turned are the fastest. It should be exactly way around. Because mammals are stiff fir a few hours (I thing it is somewhat around six hours before there muscles lose up against and the corpses aren't stiff anymore).
when those are the fastest ones then I'm understanding it.
So, when you wanna survive in the summer, you have to change your armor with chain armor and such and use the thicker leather or even fireman's clothes in the winter.
But more then this (beaides the guy who he had safed from a certain death and who got healed thanks to Gusses help and medications and such, left him just one or two days after they "saved" a women they knew nothing about).
Normally he should've known that she could be a member of a bigger group (just logically thought). But though I heard the rest of this book, they could live happily ever after...
I'm happy that I found this genius book series which is definitely is written for an adult audience!
