The setup wasl nice, unfortunately the whole story was too predictable….

I was looking forward to the new Julie Caplin book, but I really can’t with this one, it’s way too much focused on superficial and shallow sensations like food only almost. The character is flat and doesn’t have credibility or likability , and not only the main character. This whole series is more on the light side of life which I always enjoyed. But in the year 2021, when the whole world faces deep existential questions, you cannot get away blabbering about chocolates and cake as the main topic. The love story is also not hitting home. I really tried to like this book but I can’t. This series will either continue with something more touching, interesting and authentic or it’s dead with this book.
