Not only are all the genre's typical clichés well represented: unlikely coincidences, 'crazy' twists, exaggerated characters. Sadly the author also couldn't refrain from amply seasoning his descriptions with racist and homophobic cliches – resulting in an ample points deduction.

Zugegeben, man muß diese Art Romane mögen: Anleihen bei Indiana Jones, wilde Verfolgungsjagden und geschichtliche sowie geologische Behauptungen halten einer Überprüfung nicht immer stand.
Wer wissenschaftlich Fundiertes in Romanen braucht, ist bei Sussman sowieso nicht wirklich gut aufgehoben. Dies im Kopf, waren 80% des Buches für mich trotzdem spannend und unterhaltsam. Auch der Vorleser macht seine Sache gut.

Grund für meine Gesamtwertung von nur 2 Sternen ist der "Showdown" des Romans. Die letzten 20% des Buches tun tatsächlich weh.
