I've listened to 80+ audiobooks here on audible so far and the great cores paradox is easily in the top ten!
Keep up the good work!

The last book and half of this book are very well paced, but for some reason the author had to change the pacing around the halfway point of this story. It is clearly done to manipulate the reader/listener because it does convey a feeling of stress and not enough time, but it is done in an obviously manipulative way that took me totally out of the story and shattered my suspension of disbelief. Then additionally it feels as if the author tried to press too much in the last 3rd of the book, it becomes a chaotic mess wich is very hard to follow, this is probably a bigger problem for audio books.

It's also getting a little annoying how many times the snake gets exactly the skill he needs to survive a certain situation in the last possible moment.

And then there is smaller stuff, like the ppl who know there are enemies all around them not hiding themself or at least building fortifications or the snake being consumed so much by conquering a tree monster that he misses ppl dying horrified deaths, even though it was clearly established how much the feelings of others influence him.

Bad pacing and manipulative writing
