The speaker distorts the language badly, shouting some figures in a pseudo-scotch dialect which makes it impossible to understand the book. I would return it, but for unknown reasons the return feature is blocked once again.

One critic complained about the use of dialect. This is of course essential to the atmosphere of the whole story. Katy Anderson takes this in her stride. This isn’t always attractive but neither should it be. Mina has created a new classical depiction of life Glasgow life.

Die Geschichte an sich ist interessant und lässt neben der reinen Krimi – Handlung noch interessante Schlüsse auf die schottische Gesellschaft in den neunziger Jahren zu. Leider erzählt Katy Anderson mit starkem schottischen Akzent und gibt ihren Figuren obendrein noch sprachliche Charakteristika, die das Verständnis noch schwieriger machen. Daher ist dieses Buch leider nur für Leute zu empfehlen, die längere Zeit in Schottland verbracht haben. Vorheriges reinhören ist unbedingt empfehlenswert!
