i liked the first book. this I struggeld to get through. the first book I read, this one I listened to. So I think it would have been better if I d read this one too. i Was not hooked on the story and not that invested in the characters, i think bc I did not like the narration especially of L. rivers. which surprised me. I normally like L. rivers. but imo as much as I like her in contemporary romances she is not very Suited for fantasy books. her style is too modern and it does not fit well and I could not connect. Plus I was not very impressed by Erik as a Character. I wished he was cleverer and more cunning. Just brutal force wasnt enough.
