Habt ihr euch schon mal eine Spicy Romantasy im Setting von Pirates of the Carribean gewünscht? Dann Leute taucht ins Everkingdom ab und Erik schickt euch über die Planke!
Sie ist Fae, er ist Sea-Fea, wir bekommen aber auch Seehexen, Meervolk und Sterbliche serviert in einer fantastischen Welt voller Tücken und Gefahren. Erik und Livia kennen sich aus Kindertagen.
Er war Kriegsgefangener ihres Vaters und sie fasziniert von dem Jungen mit dem Feuer in den Augen. Die beiden Tauschen Talismane aus und geben sich ein Versprechen: eines Tages, werden wir uns wiedersehen!
Livia fürchtet sich mit zunehmendem Alter davor das dieses Versprechen wahr wird, denn Erik entkam und ist nun der gefürchtete Everking. Gleichzeitig plant ihr Vater ihre baldige Vermählung, denn sie ist Prinzessin und muss ihre Pflicht erfüllen. Dabei sehnt sie sich nach nichts mehr als echter Leidenschaft, denn sie und ihre Gruppe royaler Erben eint sich zwar in Freundschaft und der Suche nach Spaß und Zerstreuung, aber Liebe findet sie hier nicht.
Auftritt Erik: Feurig, geheimnisvoll, zielstrebig und so leidenschaftlich wie Livia es sich immer erträumt hat. Nur ausgerechnet ihm sollte sie auf keinen Fall nahe sein wollen! Oder?
Ich hab das englische Hörbuch gehört und brauchte etwas um reinzukommen. Es sind eine Sprecherin und ein Sprecher, beide mit englischem Akzent, aber Erik spricht sehr piratig. Auf 1,5 facher Geschwinigkeit kam ich ganz gut mit und kann es empfehlen. Die Tension zwischen den beiden kam total rüber und ich hatte ein paar Momente in denen ich vor Spannung alles um mich herum vergessen habe.

I didn't like the voices
L. Rivers: Her female voices were ok, but I am in general not a fan from the breathy damsel-like voices, but in this case it kinda fits. But her male voices were very off and I didn't like them at all (there are female VA who could do male voices much better).
W. Thorne: was the wrong choice IMO. His voice sounded like the veteran grizzled pirate, not like the young male fae who is supposed to speak and think, when we hear his voice.

it got me hooked ;) from beginning to end and I loved how the story evolved. It's a completely new storyline for me and I would recommend it 10/10 if you're into fanatsy romance, a good story and a little gore.
