Der Roman verbindet Lebens- und Kunstgeschichte in vorzüglicher Weise und hält den Leser in Bann. Man fühlt sich wie in einem Italienurlaub. Das völlige Eintauchen in diese Welt wird zumindest mir dadurch sehr erschwert, dass die Aussprache der vielen italienischen Namen, Ausdrücke etc. sehr unter dem englischen Akzent des Sprechers leidet - insbesondere auch der Name Michelangelo selbst. Hier hätte sich doch bestimmt auch eine guter Sprecher finden lassen müssen, der auch die italienische Aussprache akzentfrei meistert und so das erleben der italienischen Renaissance störungsfrei ermöglicht.

Würden Sie es noch mal mit einem anderen Hörbuch mit Arthur Morey versuchen?

Even in the most upbeat conversations Mr Morey sublimly captures at least the agony. After every Dialog you expect Michel to either cry and sob or hear a sigh and a plop. Hard to unhear and really dive in to the story. But lots of interesting content, still worthwhile...
