Even though my autistic experience differs to Fern’s in many ways, I felt so seen and connected and kindred with her. I’ve been a fan of hers ever since I first came across a standup clip on YouTube and I’m regularly rewatching her content because I love her humor and vulnerability

The best book I’ve read on an autistic female experience that manages to neither sweeten nor darken the entire experience but rather is frank about the highs and lows and how society is to blame for many of the challenges we face in being diagnosed and taken seriously

I hope I understand Autism better now.
Her point of view is easy to understand.
I (non-native) struggled to understand her accent a few times, but as far as I can tell those few words I couldn't understand weren't too relevant to the rest.
If you happen to read this, I wish you success in increasing the amount of moments you feel content.

I think it's an exciting but sad report that provides information, knowledge and hope for neurodivergent people who feel similarly.
Every book that deals with neurodivergence or, as in this case, autism, helps to create understanding among interested or open-minded people.
This is particularly impressive in this case because I was able to experience how difficult it can be for neurodivergent people and what detours there are until the cause of many problems is recognized.
And I also think Fern's Scottish accent is just mega cool.
